Hybrids have been around for thousands and thousands of years going back to times such as greek mythology - a hybrid is something that has been created using to different elements. In this case, something that has combined with something else and the offspring is a hybrid of both. Also a hybrid would also be an adaptation of the environment that it is in, and example of natural selection and evolution. In terms of greek mythology a Centaur is an example, this is a combination of a torso of a human and a body of a horse. Along with a Siren, a women with a bird like body.

These examples are all fictional and made up, however there is actually living example of hybrids and one would be the Sphynx cat, this is an example of a natural hybrid, this concept of being hairless was simply a natural mutation to a certain breed of cats reproducing. The mutation was then carried on by forced reproduction by breeders to create a very expensive breed of cat.

An example of a forced hybrid would be a Liger, these 2 animals will never naturally come into contact with each other due to the environments that they both live in but they have been successful in creating babies. Doing this has made one of the biggest cats in the world.
